Aim for the body of a Greek God!

I always look to the movies for inspiration! I bet you’ve seen all the Rocky and Rambo movies. Sylvester Stallone sure had the kind of body I wanted! Not only that but the man is over 50 yrs old! That’s what I wanted, an ageless body carved in granite!!!

What about the old Bruce Lee movies. Bruce had a lean, mean chiseled physique and lightning speed. I think Bruce inspired more people to take up Ab training than anyone else in history.

Of course more recently there was "Fight Club", a great movies. Man, was Brad Pitt cut and looking good. Achieving that kind of leanness will really make you stand out in a crowd. Anyhow, that’s what I decided to do. I would train hard and start to study health and nutrition to come up with a program that could transform me from an average person into a superbly conditioned athlete.

It wasn’t as easy as it sounds. In fact I felt like I was being buried alive by the avalanche of information that was available. I studied literally hundreds of books and articles on training, health and nutrition. But it wasn’t the volume of information that was the problem it was the fact that most of it was contradictory.

Damn, was I confused. Every author, book and magazine had a different scientific study proving their point but in many cases this information was totally the opposite to other scientific studies reported elsewhere.

This was about 9 years ago and then something incredible happened.

That’s when I first read about a little known Brazilian family that for 60 years had been accepting no-holds-barred fights against any opponent and has remained undefeated for all that time. Now by no-holds-barred, I mean NO-HOLDS-BARRED!!! There were no rules and no time limits. They fought boxers, wrestlers, martial-artists and street-fighters, and beat them all!

You see I was so impressed by them I started training in Brazilian Ju-Jitsu (the martial art they practice) classes in my area. And while all my friends in the class were talking about how brilliant the Brazilian techniques were (which they are), I was interested in something else.

I was interested in their Eating, Training and Lifestyle!

After I studied the kind of diet they were using I realized something that was almost unbelievable. Their diet just happened to have a lot of similarities to the way primates eat in the wild.

BANG!

The light bulb went off in my head. You see I had already studied many texts on the diets of primates but had dismissed them as not being relevant to Athletes, Martial Artists or Weight Trainers.

I had been searching for the natural diet of MAN. What were we designed to eat. After all a Lion eats meat, a Cow eats grass but what should we eat? Surely this had to be the starting point for any talk on diet, but I’d never heard anyone else ever ask this question!

But Now everything was starting to make sense. I locked myself in my study and went through the texts on primates again. The 2 primates I concentrated on were the chimpanzee and the orangutan. Believe it or not the chimpanzee shares 99% of the same genetics as us and the orangutan has 97%. They both have an almost identical digestive system!

It was all right in front of me all along. One book led to another which led to another and so on.

Eating like a primate was not the whole answer but it had opened my eyes to a new level of understanding about nutrition. At last I could answer the question of just what is our natural diet (and I explain that answer in the program).

3~ the Masai Tribe of Africa: the Masai were herders of cattle and goats. Big deal you say. Just remember that in Africa cattle are not attacked by dogs; they are attacked by LIONS!! And the Masai didn’t have guns they used spears!! A famous doctor who lived with and studied the Masai commented after witnessing a warrior face a charging lion and kill it with his spear that it was "one of the most superb of human achievements".
