Last week at gym, I had an argument with a local body building muscle head. He has used steroids substantially and is of enormous stature. At the time he was doing bicep curl...I was on the weight rack next to him and noticed him grunting and moaning while lifting a significant weight. He noticed that I was lifting the same weight with apparently less effort...(55kg bicep curl). He asked me if I wanted to achieve size increase and I answered no. The weight I am is excellent for Karate and Kickboxing and I find using the concepts in the Spartan Regime I can increase strength through the roof while maintaining what is important to me. My question to Mr Flex was "How much of your muscle and size is actually useful? Can you even do a chin up?"....no! He could not believe that someone my size could exercise with such high weights.

Working crowd control I have also found forearm strength training to be exceptionally useful. Imagine their surprise when someone of my stature escorts someone twice my size by way of arm bar or lock, with little effort and energy. Your program is an eye-opening at the least. Sticking to it is difficult but the 'road less travelled' has incredible opportunities and the sense of achievement outweighs any negativity from Western society. Yours with fighting spirit."
